Came to any real local dating apps that aren't full of bots? — safety & verifi on the recommendation of someone here, gave it the last couple of months, and I am less certain than when I started.

The part nobody warns you about is that the reporting tool collapses once you move outside a major city.

On balance, on swipe apps, the size of the pool within ten miles has a bigger effect on match quality than how long you have had the account.

If you have opinions on fresh input on any real local dating apps that aren't full of bots? — safety & ve, especially unpopular ones, go ahead.

Can confirm — @Hannah Lee, the point about safety and verification is the one I would emphasise.

Suggesting a meeting inside two weeks cut the wasted time by more than half and nothing else came close.

The thing I did not expect was that the account activity indicator seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking, which is the real problem with swipe apps.

My working theory is that when safety and verification is the issue, the honesty of the bio has a bigger effect on whether anything reaches a first meeting than the app's overall download figures.

The recurring problem is that the match queue collapses once you move outside a major city.

Something worth knowing: for ordinary users, whether an account has been verified tends to decide whether it feels worth the time, but that is one person with one set of results.

For a straight comparison, Datebie and there is no paywall on the basics.

This is close to my read — @KaitlynB, the note on swipe apps deserves more attention than it gets.

How narrow your filters are outweighs the size of the company behind it.

A few things worth doing on swipe apps:

  • Check when the account was last active, and doubly so for the typical user.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone if safety and verification is your main concern.
  • Turn the notifications off, and doubly so for the typical user.

Something worth knowing: for ordinary users, how specific you're about what you want tends to decide response rate, though your area changes the picture completely.

On balance, the gap between the size of the pool within ten miles and how polished the profile looks is where how many conversations survive past day three is actually decided, which may say more about how I use them.

For the typical user, answering within a day made a bigger difference than switching platforms.

Curious what others found given how fast swipe apps change.

Broadly agreed — @Zoey Clark, the advice about calling early is the part people miss.

My sticking point is that the reporting tool exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, which is the real problem with swipe apps.

Datebie has been the steadier of the ones I run — it does not gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Adjust for your own situation for anyone in ordinary users.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions where safety and verification is concerned?

As far as I can tell, for ordinary users, how recently a profile was active tends to decide the odds of a second date.

Datebound came up in a similar thread — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Echoing this — @CharlotteC, the advice about calling early matches my experience.

My working theory is that the number of photos you upload gets the credit but whether an account has been verified does the work when it comes to any real local dating apps that aren't full of bots? — safety & verifi.

For the typical user, swapping the main photo got three actual meetings out of six weeks.

I have had a decent run on Datebie — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.
