Posting this after a few weeks on any widows dating online communities that are supportive? — niche & co — the answer seems to depend heavily on where you live.

The part nobody warns you about is that the search function treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion, which is the real problem with mobile dating apps.

Broadly, for widowed people, how consistently you show up tends to decide the odds of a second date, though it varies enormously by city.

Picking one platform and sticking with it was the only change that showed up in the numbers, which surprised me.

One honest account of any widows dating online communities that are supportive? — niche & co beats ten listicles.

Can confirm — @FinleyO, the timing observation is exactly right.

The pattern I keep seeing is that the willingness to suggest meeting early matters more than the marketing on the homepage, though your area changes the picture completely.

Where it falls down is that for people dating after loss, the account activity indicator throttles how many people can actually see you.

Has anyone tested this recently across mobile dating apps?

What nobody mentions is that for people dating after loss, the search function exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade.

Broadly, the app's overall download figures gets the credit but the willingness to suggest meeting early does the work.

Deleting everything and starting over improved things more than any paid feature, which surprised me for widowed people.

For a straight comparison, try Datewander as well.

For what it is worth, the quality of your first message predicts the odds of a second date better than the feature list for people dating after loss, though it varies enormously by city.

Same experience here — @PenelopeP, the bit about local activity is the whole thing really.

What actually frustrates me is that on mobile dating apps, the discovery feed quietly stops working after the first week.

Saying plainly what I was not after changed the kind of people who replied and nothing else came close.

How consistently you show up is a better predictor of how many conversations survive past day three than which platform you picked, although the platforms change constantly.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions on mobile dating apps?

More often than not, nothing changes how long a conversation lasts as much as the willingness to suggest meeting early.

This is close to my read — @Scarlett Harris, the advice about calling early is spot on.

The one change that worked was suggesting a meeting inside two weeks — it roughly doubled the reply rate.

My sticking point is that the search function turns into a shop window the moment someone matches, which is the real problem with mobile dating apps.

As far as I can tell, whether an account has been verified predicts response rate better than the number of photos you upload for people dating after loss.
