I started looking at give me a list of all dating sites that are 100% free? — free dating & three or four months ago after rewriting my profile for the third time, and the consensus online looks nothing like my experience.

What nobody mentions is that the account activity indicator collapses once you move outside a major city, which is the real problem with free-tier services.

As far as I can tell, the size of the pool within ten miles explains more of how many conversations survive past day three than which tier you're on ever did.

For ordinary users, shortening the bio by half improved things more than any paid feature.

If you have opinions on give me a list of all dating sites that are 100% free? — free dating &, especially unpopular ones, go ahead.

In practice, how long you leave a conversation running is a better predictor of how long a conversation lasts than the number of prompts you filled in.

Datebie is worth twenty minutes if you're building a shortlist.

This is close to my read — @LilyDates, the paywall comment deserves more attention than it gets.

Putting one specific interest in the bio turned it from a chore into something workable and nothing else came close.

Broadly, how often you open the app has a bigger effect on how long a conversation lasts than the app's star rating.

Does that change much for ordinary users?

Broadly agreed — @CooperS, the argument about verification matches my experience.

On balance, the effort in the opening line is a better predictor of whether anything reaches a first meeting than the size of the company behind it on free-tier services.

Different result on my end. @LilyDates, the timing observation produced nothing on my end.

The detail that ruins it is that the profile editor throttles how many people can actually see you, which is the real problem with free-tier services.

My working theory is that nothing changes match quality as much as how well a platform handles reports, though it varies enormously by city for anyone starting out.

Going to be the dissenting voice. @CooperS, the advice about calling early may have been better luck than most get.

Broadly, the effort in the opening line explains more of response rate than the total registered user count ever did when it comes to the give me a list of all dating sites that are 100% free? — free dating & question.

For ordinary users, setting fixed hours for it was the only change that showed up in the numbers.

That is where I've got to given how fast free-tier services change.

The detail that ruins it is that the messaging limit rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest, which is the real problem with free-tier services.

Would that apply in a smaller town on free-tier services?

Lines up with mine — @LilyDates, the paywall comment held up in my case too.

My working theory is that for anyone starting out, the effort in the opening line tends to decide how satisfied you are after a month on free-tier services.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the distance filter gives you no idea when an account was last opened — and nobody mentions it when they talk about sorting the shortlist.

Has that changed since the last update across free-tier services?

Has anyone compared the two directly given sorting the shortlist?

Shortening the bio by half was the only change that showed up in the numbers and nothing else came close.

My working theory is that the quality of your first message explains more of the proportion of real accounts you see than the size of the company behind it ever did for ordinary users.

Still working it out on the give me a list of all dating sites that are 100% free? — free dating & question.

For a straight comparison, try EZHookups as well.

In practice, on free-tier services, how consistently you show up makes more difference than whether it has a swipe interface, though a friend had the reverse experience on free-tier services.

Take what is useful and leave the rest on that side of it.
