I've been wondering about this for a while now and figured this community would have the best answers.

The scam situation has gotten pretty bad on a lot of platforms. I've seen so many fake profiles that it's hard to trust anyone at first.

I've tried a few things already with mixed results. Getting ghosted, hitting paywalls, running into obvious bots — it gets old fast.

Drop your thoughts below — what's actually working for people in 2026?

One I've been hearing about lately is Datebie — curious if anyone here has used it.

Tried it for about three months. Had some okay experiences but nothing life-changing.

I've gone through a bunch of these over the past year or so. The biggest thing I've noticed is that activity levels vary wildly depending on the time of day and your location.

I've also had a look at Datelink recently and the interface is cleaner than I expected. Worth checking out if you haven't.

I've been on and off these platforms for years so I have some actual experience to share here.

Paid vs free is a bit of a false choice in my opinion. A good free profile on an active platform will outperform a lazy paid profile every time.

A few safety reminders that are always worth repeating:

  • Video call before meeting in person. Anyone who refuses to video chat is a red flag.
  • Meet in public places first. No exceptions.
  • Never move conversations to WhatsApp or Telegram immediately — that's a common pattern for scammers.
  • Use a reverse image search on anyone's photos before agreeing to meet. It takes 10 seconds and saves a lot of headaches.

Going to give a longer answer here because I feel like this question deserves more than a quick take.

Mainstream options worth considering:

  • Zoosk
  • Tinder
  • Feeld
  • Facebook Dating
  • MeetMe

Been keeping an eye on Datescout lately — the community there seems pretty active compared to some others I've tried.

Real talk — patience is the biggest factor. You're not going to find something overnight on most of these. Sites like datebound.site, datewander.site also keep coming up in conversations about this.

Customer support on most of these is genuinely terrible. Don't expect fast help. Rendate was one that surprised me — better than I expected.

Some of the more mainstream ones worth trying: Hinge, Match, Plenty of Fish, Facebook Dating. They all have free tiers to test before paying.

After trying a lot of different platforms I think the honest answer is that none of them are perfect. The best results usually come from spending time on your profile and being consistent.
