Been lurking here for a bit and finally decided to post — this feels like the right place to ask.

Privacy is something I think about a lot with this stuff. Not trying to end up on some list or have my data sold to advertisers.

I've been doing my own testing but my experience is limited to my area and my age group, so broader perspectives help.

  • Always check for recent reviews, not just the homepage testimonials
  • Test the free tier thoroughly before paying anything
  • Look for real activity signals — last login dates, post history, etc.

Even negative experiences are useful — helps narrow down what to avoid.

Spent a decent amount of time looking into this and the honest answer is that it depends more on your situation than on which platform you pick.

Worth testing across a few mainstream options too: Zoosk, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Feeld. All have free tiers to start with.

Also been seeing Souldate pop up — the layout looks cleaner than some older alternatives.

Honestly the free tiers are mostly useless at this point — you hit a wall within five minutes of signing up. Also keep seeing flamedate.online and luvdate.site mentioned in these threads.

The bot problem is bad everywhere right now, not just on the free sites. Even paid ones have tons of fakes. Came across Rendate recently — seemed worth a look.

Going to give a more detailed take since this gets oversimplified a lot.

What actually moves the needle: logging in consistently, keeping your profile fresh, and responding to messages quickly when you do get them.

Safety basics that are always worth repeating:

  • Tell a friend where you're going and check in
  • Video call before any in-person meeting — non-negotiable
  • Keep your personal social accounts private until trust is established
  • Use reverse image search on photos when something feels off

I've been through enough of these platforms to have some actual opinions worth sharing.

Safety basics that are always worth repeating:

  • Tell a friend where you're going and check in
  • Meet first in a public place with people around
  • Use reverse image search on photos when something feels off
  • Never send money or gift cards to someone you haven't met
