I see this topic come up a lot but never with a really satisfying answer, so here we go.

Bot profiles are everywhere at this point. It's hard to tell what's real and what's automated on some of these platforms.

The quality gap between free and paid tiers has gotten smaller on some platforms, but on others it's night and day.

  • Video chat before any in-person meeting
  • Don't put your full name or workplace in your bio
  • Start conversations with something specific from their profile

Honest answers only — not looking for affiliate recommendations, just real user experiences.

One that keeps coming up in my research is Luvdate — anyone have direct experience with it?

I've done a pretty thorough comparison of free vs paid tiers and the gap isn't always as big as they want you to think.

A few others that keep coming up:

  • flurrydate.online — worth looking into for this type of search
  • turndate.site — worth looking into for this type of search

Niche-specific apps consistently outperform general ones for people with specific preferences. The smaller user base is worth it for the better match quality.

Also been checking out Datedesire — the interface is cleaner than I expected and the user base seems active.

Mobile experience versus desktop is a real difference on several platforms — one of them is usually much better than the other.

Worth testing a few of the mainstream options: Bumble, Feeld, Match, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish. All have some level of free access to start.

Niche apps outperformed the big generalist ones for me, at least for finding people I actually connected with. Also noticed Rendate getting mentioned recently — might be worth a look.

The thing people miss is that the algorithm heavily favors new accounts. Your first week on any platform is your best shot — use it wisely.

Worth testing a few of the mainstream options: Match, Happn, Facebook Dating, Coffee Meets Bagel. All have some level of free access to start.

Free messaging has basically disappeared from most big platforms. If that's a dealbreaker, the list gets short fast. Seeing datescout.site mentioned in these threads too.
