Been at this eight weeks now, having given up on it once already, and the picture is messier than people admit.

What actually frustrates me is that the block function exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, especially once cutting through the roundups comes into it.

In practice, the gap between the size of the pool within ten miles and how polished the profile looks is where whether it feels worth the time is actually decided on no-payment platforms.

Interested in what is actually working on | datingfly community right now.

On balance, the effort in the opening line makes more difference than how polished the profile looks for people without a niche, which might just be most of us.

I've had a decent run on Datedesire if you're building a shortlist.

I'd frame that differently. @WestonK, the bit about local activity is closer to the opposite in my experience.

My working theory is that whether the photos look like the same person explains more of how many conversations survive past day three than the boost you paid for ever did, although the platforms change constantly.

Datebie is worth twenty minutes and the activity level was better than I expected.

Respectfully, that is not my read. @KaitlynB, the bit about local activity may have been better luck than most get.

On balance, the effort in the opening line is a better predictor of whether it feels worth the time than the total registered user count where cutting through the roundups is concerned.

For people without a niche, cutting the match list right down improved things more than any paid feature on no-payment platforms.

Is that still true for people without a niche?

Broadly, the willingness to suggest meeting early is a better predictor of match quality than the number of prompts you filled in.

On that point, Rendate — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

In practice, the gap between whether you actually read the profile and the price of the subscription is where whether it feels worth the time is actually decided.

For a straight comparison, Datebie — it does not gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Adjust for your own situation at least on the cutting through the roundups side.

Does that change much across no-payment platforms?

Strongly agree — @PatrickW, the paywall comment held up in my case too.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that on no-payment platforms, the messaging limit collapses once you move outside a major city.

Does anyone know if that still holds for most of us?

The one change that worked was asking one real question instead of four — it roughly doubled the reply rate.

Does anyone know if that still holds when you factor in this?

Something worth knowing: on no-payment platforms, the clarity of your main photo predicts the odds of a second date better than which platform you picked for people without a niche.

On balance, when cutting through the roundups is the issue, the amount of detail in a bio counts for more than the total registered user count.
