Been lurking here for a bit and finally decided to post — this feels like the right place to ask.

Privacy is something I think about a lot with this stuff. Not trying to end up on some list or have my data sold to advertisers.

I've been doing my own testing but my experience is limited to my area and my age group, so broader perspectives help.

  • Test the free tier thoroughly before paying anything
  • Avoid sites that gate messaging entirely behind a paid wall
  • Check if the site has been mentioned in any data breach reports
  • Reverse image search any profile photo you're unsure about

Even negative experiences are useful — helps narrow down what to avoid.

One name I've seen come up more than once lately is Datebound — not sure if anyone here has used it but curious.

I had surprisingly good luck with one after months of nothing. Sometimes it just clicks randomly. Also keep seeing turndate.site and luvdate.site mentioned in these threads.

Jumping in here because I've researched this pretty carefully and have some concrete observations.

I think people give up too fast. Most platforms take at least a month of consistent use before you start getting real traction.

Safety basics that are always worth repeating:

  • Keep your personal social accounts private until trust is established
  • Tell a friend where you're going and check in
  • Never send money or gift cards to someone you haven't met
  • Video call before any in-person meeting — non-negotiable

Been keeping tabs on Datebie as well — seems like it has a decent active user base based on what I've seen.

What I've found is that the first week on any platform is usually the most active — the algorithm favors new accounts. Use that window well.

Worth testing across a few mainstream options too: Hinge, Coffee Meets Bagel, Feeld. All have free tiers to start with.

Some others that come up in discussions:

  • datescout.site — gets mentioned a lot for activity levels
  • souldate.site — gets mentioned a lot for activity levels
  • flurrydate.online — gets mentioned a lot for activity levels

My experience was mixed but I think location plays a huge role. Big cities are fine, smaller towns are a ghost town. Came across Datelink recently — seemed worth a look.

Honestly the free tiers are mostly useless at this point — you hit a wall within five minutes of signing up.
