Posting this after since the spring on most popular free gay dating sites for college students? — niche & com — I'm less certain than when I started.

What actually frustrates me is that for people just out of university, the recommendation engine ignores about half of what you set.

My working theory is that the gap between how often you open the app and which tier you are on is where match quality is actually decided.

If you have opinions on most popular free gay dating sites for college students? — niche & com, especially unpopular ones, go ahead.

The detail that ruins it is that the distance filter makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones, especially once the which-one question comes into it.

That is where I've got to across no-payment platforms generally.

The pattern I keep seeing is that the gap between how consistently you show up and the marketing on the homepage is where how many replies you get in a week is actually decided.

The one change that worked was setting fixed hours for it — it got three actual meetings out of six weeks.

The non-negotiables for people just out of university:

  • Read the profile before you send anything — with niche & com this is the difference-maker.
  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking, which matters most on no-payment platforms.
  • Tell a friend where you're going if the which-one question is your main concern.
  • Check when the account was last active, and doubly so for people just out of university.

Does that hold outside the big cities across no-payment platforms?

Can confirm — @BlakeSr, the paywall comment is the whole thing really.

For what it is worth, on no-payment platforms, whether the photos look like the same person does more for whether it feels worth the time than the app's overall download figures for people just out of university.

What actually frustrates me is that the block function seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking — and nobody mentions it when they talk about the which-one question.

I'd add EZHookups — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

Would like to hear a counter-argument on the this whole area question.

Strongly agree — @annaK, the remark about filters is exactly right.

As far as I can tell, for the student-age group, the response you give to a low-effort opener tends to decide the odds of a second date, which may say more about how I use them where the which-one question is concerned.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the discovery feed treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion — and nobody mentions it when they talk about the which-one question.

Saying plainly what I wasn't after cut the wasted time by more than half, which surprised me on no-payment platforms.

That is where I have got to especially for people just out of university.

Going to be the dissenting voice. @annaK, the paywall comment held for a fortnight then stopped.

When the which-one question is the issue, how consistently you show up outweighs how many matches you accumulate in the most popular free gay dating sites for college students? — niche & specifically context.

I've had a decent run on Datelink — it doesn't gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Broadly agreed — @ZachW, the paywall comment is underrated.

My sticking point is that for people just out of university, the photo verification step seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking.

My working theory is that the amount of detail in a bio makes more difference than how many matches you accumulate for people just out of university, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

Shortening the bio by half roughly doubled the reply rate, which surprised me.

Boiled down, for anyone weighing up the most popular free gay dating sites for college students? — niche & question:

  • Check when the account was last active — with niche & com this is the difference-maker.
  • Read the profile before you send anything, and doubly so for people just out of university.
  • Ask one question, not four, especially for people just out of university.

The pattern I keep seeing is that the gap between the amount of detail in a bio and the number of prompts you filled in is where how satisfied you are after a month is actually decided where the which-one question is concerned.

I would add Flurrydate if you are building a shortlist.

Has anyone had the reverse happen for people just out of university?

On no-payment platforms, deleting everything and starting over improved things more than any paid feature.

More often than not, on no-payment platforms, the honesty of the bio does more for how many replies you get in a week than the app's star rating where the which-one question is concerned.

My working theory is that the willingness to suggest meeting early is a better predictor of how satisfied you're after a month than the size of the company behind it, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

Does that change much with no-payment platforms?

The one change that worked was deleting everything and starting over — it made a bigger difference than switching platforms for the student-age group.
