three or four months of trying to work out 1 dating app for finding a long-term partner? — free dating & apps | d, after rewriting my profile for the third time, and the picture is messier than people admit.

The recurring problem is that the photo verification step turns into a shop window the moment someone matches.

The questions I keep coming back to about 1 dating app for finding a long-term partner? — free dating & apps:

  • Has anyone had the reverse happen across serious dating platforms?
  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions where narrowing the options is concerned?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up on serious dating platforms?
  • Is that a regional thing for anyone in most of us?
  • Has anyone tested this recently given narrowing the options?

Swapping the main photo stopped the conversations dying at day two and nothing else came close on serious dating platforms.

Direct experience of that side of it is what I'm after.

The clarity of your main photo is a better predictor of whether it feels worth the time than how polished the profile looks, which may say more about how I use them where narrowing the options is concerned.

The thing I didn't expect was that the match queue quietly stops working after the first week — and nobody mentions it when they talk about narrowing the options.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions with serious dating platforms?

The marketing on the homepage gets the credit but the quality of your first message does the work, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite for most of us.

Luvdate has been the steadier of the ones I run — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

For anyone starting out, moving to a call early stopped the conversations dying at day two for most of us.

In practice, the gap between how recently a profile was active and the number of photos you upload is where the proportion of real accounts you see is actually decided.

I have had a decent run on Turndate if you are building a shortlist.

Same experience here — @PenelopeP, the point about narrowing the options is the part people miss.

What actually frustrates me is that the discovery feed quietly stops working after the first week, especially once narrowing the options comes into it.

More often than not, for most of us, the amount of detail in a bio tends to decide response rate.

For a straight comparison, Datelink and the activity level was better than I expected.

The honesty of the bio makes more difference than the number of prompts you filled in for anyone starting out for anyone starting out.

Souldate came up in a similar thread if you're building a shortlist.
