Been at this nearly a year now, after moving to a new city, and the picture is messier than people admit.

What wore me down was that the match queue seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking.

The pattern I keep seeing is that nothing changes how many conversations survive past day three as much as the amount of detail in a bio on the sites.

On the sites, saying plainly what I was not after improved things more than any paid feature once working out which is worth the time was the priority.

If anyone has tested best gay male dating sites? — niche & community dating | datingfly com recently I'd rather hear that than another roundup.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the notification system treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion — and nobody mentions it when they talk about working out which is worth the time.

Setting fixed hours for it made the whole thing feel less like admin for gay users.

The thing I didn't expect was that the match queue exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, which is the real problem with the sites.

I would add EZHookups if you are testing a few at once.

Is anyone getting different results when working out which is worth the time is the main worry?

For a straight comparison, try Luvdate as well.

I want to gently disagree. @Grace Martin, the profile-quality point backfired when I tried it.

As far as I can tell, when working out which is worth the time is the issue, how well a platform handles reports does more for how many replies you get in a week than whether it has a swipe interface in the best gay male dating sites? — niche & community dating | datingfly context.

Not claiming this is universal on the this question.

For men seeking men, rewriting the opener roughly doubled the reply rate.

The detail that ruins it is that the notification system turns into a shop window the moment someone matches, which is the real problem with the sites.

My working theory is that on the sites, whether the photos look like the same person beats the marketing on the homepage.

This is close to my read — @SamanthaD, the framing around men seeking men is the one I would emphasise.

Something worth knowing: the gap between how quickly you reply and how long you have had the account is where response rate is actually decided.

The part nobody warns you about is that for men seeking men, the account activity indicator makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones.

Leading with something slightly odd got three actual meetings out of six weeks with this whole area.

What survived contact with reality on best gay male dating sites? — niche & community dating | datingfly com:

  • Swap the group photo for a clear one, particularly on the sites.
  • Check when the account was last active — the alternative wastes weeks.
  • Read the profile before you send anything if working out which is worth the time is your main concern.
  • Set a daily time limit, especially for men seeking men.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, which matters most on the sites.

Worth testing rather than taking my word if you're on the sites.

Does anyone know if that still holds once you factor in working out which is worth the time?
