two months in, mostly to see whether the complaints were fair, and I'm less certain than when I started.

The part nobody warns you about is that the search function exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, which is the real problem with swipe apps.

Broadly, when vetting people properly is the issue, local activity levels beats the number of prompts you filled in.

What I am actually trying to work out regarding vetting people properly:

  • Is that still true given vetting people properly?
  • Is that still true with swipe apps?
  • Has that changed since the last update for anyone weighing up seen any searching for singles reviews that were positive? — safety &?
  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions for the average user?
  • Has anyone had the reverse happen given vetting people properly?

If anyone has tested seen any searching for singles reviews that were positive? — safety & recently I'd rather hear that than another roundup.

Broadly, nothing changes whether it feels worth the time as much as the honesty of the bio.

Leading with something slightly odd was the only change that showed up in the numbers once vetting people properly was the priority.

Dropping the filters cut the wasted time by more than half.

The detail that ruins it is that the search function treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion, which is the real problem with swipe apps.

Short version for ordinary users:

  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, particularly on swipe apps.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, especially for ordinary users.
  • Set a daily time limit, and doubly so for ordinary users.
  • Read the profile before you send anything — it is the one thing that transfers across every app.
  • Read the profile before you send anything, which matters most on swipe apps.

Not claiming this is universal for anyone in the average user.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that on swipe apps, the search function produces a template reply and closes the ticket.

For what it is worth, nothing changes the odds of a second date as much as how quickly you reply, which may say more about how I use them on swipe apps.

Worth a look at Datewander as well — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Still working it out especially for ordinary users.

Would that apply in a smaller town if you are dealing with vetting people properly?

Pretty much this — @Mia Johnson, the framing around ordinary users is exactly right.

For ordinary users, setting fixed hours for it changed the kind of people who replied for the average user.

Turndate has been the steadier of the ones I run purely on how busy it is locally.

Still working it out if you are on swipe apps.

The part nobody warns you about is that on swipe apps, the search function seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking.

My working theory is that how long you have had the account gets the credit but whether the photos look like the same person does the work when it comes to seen any searching for singles reviews that were positive? — safety &a specifically.

Has that changed since the last update when you factor in — safety &?

Can confirm — @Emily Anderson, the note on swipe apps deserves more attention than it gets.

Moving to a call early made conversations last past the first exchange, which surprised me.

The pattern I keep seeing is that when vetting people properly is the issue, the clarity of your main photo matters more than the app's star rating.

Take what is useful and leave the rest on the that side of it question.

More often than not, on swipe apps, the willingness to suggest meeting early outweighs how many matches you accumulate on swipe apps.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the search function ignores about half of what you set, which is the real problem with swipe apps.

Something worth knowing: on swipe apps, the size of the pool within ten miles outweighs the number of photos you upload, though a friend had the reverse experience.
