Been going back and forth on this for a while and finally decided to just ask here.

Bot profiles are everywhere at this point. It's hard to tell what's real and what's automated on some of these platforms.

I've already wasted money on subscriptions that didn't deliver. Now I want to know what actually works before putting any more cash in.

Thanks in advance — even negative experiences help narrow down what to skip.

One that keeps coming up in my research is Rendate — anyone have direct experience with it?

I've done a pretty thorough comparison of free vs paid tiers and the gap isn't always as big as they want you to think.

Worth testing a few of the mainstream options: Feeld, Hinge, Plenty of Fish. All have some level of free access to start.

Happy to share what I've learned the hard way from testing a bunch of these.

The free tier problem is real, but the solution isn't always to pay — sometimes it's to find a platform that's actually free.

Some things that consistently improve results:

  • Video call before meeting — weeds out catfish and builds genuine comfort
  • Respond within an hour when you can — response rates drop fast after that
  • Meet in public, tell a friend the details

Going to be thorough because the short answers on this topic are usually misleading.

I think a lot of frustration comes from using general apps for specific goals. If you have a niche preference, there's almost certainly a dedicated app for it.

Some things that consistently improve results:

  • Meet in public, tell a friend the details
  • Video call before meeting — weeds out catfish and builds genuine comfort
  • Keep your bio under 150 words — longer ones get read less

Been keeping tabs on Luvdate as well — the community there seems genuinely active compared to some of the bigger names.

The apps owned by Match Group all share data infrastructure. Just worth knowing going in.

Worth testing a few of the mainstream options: Zoosk, OkCupid, Match. All have some level of free access to start.

Also been checking out Souldate — the interface is cleaner than I expected and the user base seems active.

The 'we have millions of members' line means nothing if most of them haven't logged in for a year. Check for active user signals.

Worth testing a few of the mainstream options: Match, Badoo, Happn, Feeld, Facebook Dating. All have some level of free access to start.

Two months was my personal breaking point — after that on one app with no results I moved on. Seeing datescout.site mentioned in these threads too.
