Been chewing on totally free dating sites for seniors? — niche & community dating | da for a fortnight after a fairly grim first attempt, and the answer seems to depend heavily on where you live.

The recurring problem is that the photo verification step throttles how many people can actually see you, especially once sorting the shortlist comes into it.

For what it is worth, which platform you picked gets the credit but the response you give to a low-effort opener does the work when it comes to dating | da.

Specifically, on totally free dating sites for seniors? — niche & community dating in practice, what I would like input on:

  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions in wherever you happen to live?
  • Does that change much once you factor in sorting the shortlist?
  • Has that changed since the last update given sorting the shortlist?
  • Would that apply in a smaller town when you factor in that side of it?

Interested in what is actually working on recent accounts of totally free dating sites for seniors? — niche & community dating right now.

What actually frustrates me is that the support inbox gives you no idea when an account was last opened, which is the real problem with the free options.

Is anyone getting different results once you factor in sorting the shortlist?

In practice, the number of photos you upload gets the credit but how often you open the app does the work, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

For a straight comparison, Souldate if you're building a shortlist.

Pretty much this — @SeanO, the profile-quality point is exactly right.

On the free options, answering within a day made the whole thing feel less like admin.

The pattern I keep seeing is that on the free options, whether the photos look like the same person predicts how many replies you get in a week better than the number of prompts you filled in.

What nobody mentions is that for people in their sixties and beyond, the profile editor treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion.

EZHookups is another to throw in the mix and there is no paywall on the basics.

Something worth knowing: the amount of detail in a bio predicts how many conversations survive past day three better than how many matches you accumulate for the senior bracket.

For people in their sixties and beyond, shortening the bio by half produced better matches within about ten days once sorting the shortlist was the priority.

Curious what others found where sorting the shortlist is concerned.

Is there a way to check before signing up for anyone weighing up this whole area?

This is close to my read — @VeronicaT, the profile-quality point is the whole thing really.

Nothing changes how long a conversation lasts as much as the quality of your first message.

Shortening the bio by half got three actual meetings out of six weeks, which surprised me on the free options.

Where it falls down is that the support inbox exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, which is the real problem with the free options.

Would that apply in a smaller town across the free options?

That is not how it went for me. @LandonH, the note on the free options held for a fortnight then stopped.

My working theory is that the gap between whether an account has been verified and which tier you're on is where the proportion of real accounts you see is actually decided where sorting the shortlist is concerned.

My rules for sorting the shortlist, such as they are:

  • Ask one question, not four if sorting the shortlist is your main concern.
  • Never move money under any framing — the alternative wastes weeks.
  • Reverse-image-search anything too polished, especially for people in their sixties and beyond.
  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking, particularly on the free options.

Adding Datelink to the list — the profiles feel more current than most.

Not claiming this is universal where sorting the shortlist is concerned.
